    WebCT VISTA Sample Course

For Students This tour will help you become comfortable with the WebCT interface. You will also see ways to communicate and access course content and activities

For Faculty This tour is an example of a course that incorporates content, online discussions, and samples of student work and quizzing. Even if you do not plan to use WebCT to this extent, it will give you a good sense of what WebCT offers from a student's perspective.

Requirements for Viewing

These and most all WebCT tutorials require a recent version of the free Macromedia Flash player.

Part 1 Navigation and Layout
See the course toolbar in action with the Announcement tool, what it is like to view files and find your way back to the Course Content Home page

Part 2 Communication
See the how faculty can provide information to students and how everyone in the class can communicate using Announcements, the Calendar, Mail, Discussions, Chat and Who's Online tools.

Part 3 Doing Work
See examples of the Assignment and Assessment (quizzing) tools, how student work can be published and what group assignments look like.

Part 4 Getting Help
See the different ways students and faculty can get help with WebCT Vista including how to use the UNM Fastinfo KnowledgeBase. Also view an example of having a student orientation in your course.
